IronLinx Transportation started in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania as the truckload division for IronLinx Distribution.  Founded by F. Scott Danby in 2005, IronLinx Distribution provided freight and order fulfillment services mostly to e-commerce companies.  IronLinx started in a small 4-bay garage, working up to a full scale warehouse in 2007.  Scott continued to grow the warehouse and trucking divisions together until capacity at the Kennett Square property was exhausted.  To dedicate more time and resources to the truckload operation, Scott sold his interests in the warehouse and fulfillment business to his brother, Peter C. Danby in late 2012.  By 2013, Scott moved IronLinx Transportation to Oxford, Pennsylvania to continue to grow the company closer to the I-95 corridor.

In March of 2015, IronLinx Transportation acquired Crosswhite Trucking, a small regional carrier with operations based out of Chester County, PA.  Shortly thereafter, Scott moved IronLinx Transportation’s operations into the Crosswhite facility on Chrome Road near Oxford.  By the end of 2015, IronLinx was operating nearly 30 tractors and 200 trailers.

Today, IronLinx Transportation employs roughly 70 drivers and staff members and operates 24/7 from two terminals and one heavy maintenance facility.  The fleet includes 60 tractors and over 400 dry-van trailers.  IronLinx runs the entire east coast, with a focus on same and next-day service in the mid-Atlantic and northeast.
